Laminate flooring is an alternative to real wood flooring and easier to put down. What looks like a natural floor showing the grain of the wood is really a layer of decor paper which is basically a photograph under a tough protective film that is then glued and pressed on to a high density backing board. The advantage of a laminate floor is it is very hardwearing and inexpensive. Laminate flooring is not fitted directly to the sub-floor it is just clicked together and can be taken up easily and reinstalled. They can also be walked on immediately.
